Tewkesbury Nature Reserve (TNR) has won a £1,000 Movement for Good Award from Benefact Group thanks to nominations from the public.
TNR has been selected to receive a £1,000 donation as part of Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards, which is giving over £1million to charities.
TNR are going to spend the money awarded on supporting local children through providing nature-based outdoor arts and discovery activities for green recovery from the effects of the pandemic
Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts and winners, including TNR, were drawn at random.
Robyn, TNR’s Learning and Outreach Officer says “Tewkesbury Nature Reserve is a charity working to conserve and enhance our 44-hectare floodplain nature reserve and provide a safe haven for both wildlife and the community to thrive. We are currently delivering our Green Lung Project which aims to increase our local communities’ nature connectedness and enhance health and wellbeing and eco-stewardship through providing a number of learning and outreach opportunities. We are really grateful to have been nominated for this £1000 Movement for Good Award to enable us to continue some of this great work. We are going to spend it on supporting local children through providing nature-based outdoor arts and discovery activities for green recovery from the effects of the pandemic.”
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, says: “We would like to thank every single person who took the time to nominate a good cause as part of our Movement for Good Awards. Benefact Group is the fourth largest corporate donor in the UK and has an ambition to be the biggest. Owned by a charity, all of its available profits go to good causes, and the more the group grows, the more the group can give. As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do. We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”
Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
