Tewkesbury Nature Reserve have received funding to support outdoor learning for schools, families and the community. With funding from The Ernest Cook Trust, who help fund and deliver outdoor learning activities for children and young people across the UK, and Awards for All, we are excited to develop our outdoor learning activities for the people and communities within Tewkesbury.

Schools

We can work with schools to deliver curriculum-linked visits to our nature reserve as well as offer support in the classroom and across the curriculum, with local information and resources.

Our primary school visits can explore the subjects of science, geography, art and more. Secondary school pupils can continue to explore biology and geography using Tewkesbury Nature Reserve, or experience conservation volunteering with age-appropriate, seasonal activities to promote eco-stewardship. We can also offer activities to help support social, emotional and mental health through developing a nature connection for all ages. All our visits can be tailored to suit your needs.

Children and families

Tewkesbury Nature Reserve staff can work with children’s groups in and around Tewkesbury, such as guides, scouts and more, both on the reserve and in the local community through our different projects. Activities could include guided walks with nature-based activities, birdwatching, pond dipping, bug hunting, plant and tree ID or volunteering opportunities.

We will be offering a series of activities for children and families during school holidays and at times throughout the year. With activities aimed to develop a connection to nature, learn something new and support your health and wellbeing.

Community

Tewkesbury Nature Reserve can work with your community groups of all ages and interests. We can offer guided walks of the nature reserve, wildlife and art activities to help your members learn more and discover more about nature.

We will also be attending events in and around Tewkesbury throughout the year where you can meet us, join in and find out more about us.

All of this has been made possible with thanks to our funders.
