With a forest school ethos, the Nature Guardians group aims to promote creativity, self-esteem and confidence through exploring and creating within the natural world of Tewkesbury Nature Reserve!

From exploring habitats, building shelters and rafts to mini-beast hunting and pond dipping, alongside fun arts and crafts activities and games. There is something for each individual to enable them to thrive and enjoy being outside in their local space.

Dates and Times 2024

There are currently no sessions planned at present due to funding for our Green Lung Project ending. We will let you know if we begin sessions again and post a contact link.

Who can join?

Primarily aimed at 5 – 11 year olds, but older children are welcome to join and help out if interested.

We are open to accepting referrals from schools or parents who feel a young person would benefit from increased nature connectedness. There is widespread evidence that spending time in green spaces positively affects mental and physical health.

Who is it run by?

The group will be run by our Learning & Outreach Officer, and supported by other TNR representatives. We will aim to have 2 adults per 10 children ratio during sessions. All TNR representatives working with children are DBS checked.

How to sign up?

This group is completely free of charge. We just ask you sign up to let us know your child is attending as numbers are limited. Spaces are first come first served. Parents/guardians do not stay for the session.

You can sign up by clicking the links highlighted next to the dates above. You can also sign up to receive alerts of new dates by clicking the link to the form below.

A starter form will also need to be reviewed and signed before a child can join the session for the first time. You will receive further information and instructions when your place is confirmed after you complete the sign up form below. This includes meeting location and what to bring.
