Using the principles of green and blue prescribing, the Wildlife and Water for Well-being Project (3W Project) aims to develop Tewkesbury Nature Reserve as a resource to improve the physical and mental health of the local community.

A wide range of events and activities have been developed to help promote a connection to nature for health. We run regular events, such as a craft group, walking group, and children’s nature group. Additionally, we make many visits into the community to share the nature of the reserve with those who are unable to make visits in person.

The Wildlife and Water for Wellbeing (3W) project is run by our Learning and Well-being Officer, Sarah.

If you would like to find out more or think you might benefit from an increased connection with nature, please email Sarah at 3W@tewkesburynaturereserve.org.uk or check our ‘Upcoming Events’ page.

The first year of this project has been generously funded by the NHS Health Board and the Gloucestershire Local Nature Partnership, while current funding from the Community Health and Wellbeing Grant allows it to continue.

Phase one of the project has been kindly evaluated by The University of the West of England. The executive summary of this project is available to download below, with thanks to Mat Jones, Toity Deave and Michele Biddle.
