Aims and Objectives

To manage the site as a nature reserve, to protect and conserve its existing flora and fauna while fostering improvements in biodiversity.

To provide access, interpretation and other facilities that encourage physical activity, knowledge and enjoyment of the natural environment and to ensure that the needs of all are accommodated.

To enhance the rivers flowing through the site, to restore habitat, improve water and aid flood alleviation by creating more space for water and wildlife in the flood plain.

To encourage active community participation and involvement particularly with the young.

Facilitate a programme to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the natural environment.
